ArtReach St. Croix’s mission is to connect communities and the arts.

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments ArtReach lives our mission through: StCroixSplash.org, a regional online event calendar reaching nearly 125,000 unique viewers in 2015. Take Me to the River, a cross-promotional partnership connecting audiences to the fall art fairs. Last year 43,000 people went to at least one anchor event and we achieved 1.5 million media impressions. The Big Read, a literary arts program infused with the visual and performing arts connecting readers to a common book. Supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, our partners include 16 libraries, Festival Theatre, Valley Bookseller and more. Pop-up Gallery Shop on Stillwater’s Main Street, for three years now ArtReach has mobilized our artist and volunteer networks realizing a six-week holiday gift gallery resulting in nearly $15,000 artist income. Exhibition Galleries, a rotating series of visual art shows transform the galleries every six weeks. Free and open to the public, the galleries welcome over 250 visitors a month.
Current Goals ArtReach St. Croix's organizational goals include: highlighting the work of artists who live and work in the St. Croix Valley. sharing the confluence of arts and nature that give the region its unique identity, and connecting visitors to a sense of place and residents to a sense of home through the arts. In 2016, we will be adding a Mobile Art Gallery to our outreach programs and "taking it for a spin" during the fall art fairs. Other programs and services continue including: StCroixSplash.org, a regional online event calendar; Take Me to the River, a cross-promotional partnership connecting audiences to the fall art fairs; The Big Read, a literary arts program infused with the visual and performing arts connecting readers to a common book; Exhibition Galleries, a rotating series of visual art shows; and the Pop-up Holiday Gallery Shop.
Community or Constituency Served We offer multi-disciplinary programs that serve artists of all media as well as arts organizations, art patrons, and community members. Families and individuals come together to create, experience, learn and enjoy the arts together. ArtReach St. Croix is the only arts organization in the greater Stillwater area that provides education, communication, promotion, ticketing, and experiential opportunities to both artists and the greater public.
Geographic Area Served ArtReach St. Croix serves the St. Croix Valley from Taylors Falls and St. Croix Falls to Hastings and Prescott including areas in Washington, Dakota, and Chisago counties in MN & Polk, Pierce, and St. Croix Counties in WI.

General Information

Alternative Name: Art Reach St. Croix was founded in Stillwater, Minnesota in 1992, under the name River Valley Arts Council, as a grassroots organization and has grown into a community-based, multi-disciplinary organization serving artists and art patrons alike. In March 2010, we officially changed our name from ArtReach Alliance to ArtReach St. Croix. This was done to reflect who we are – a St. Croix Valley organization.
