Impact and Programs
Accomplishments
During fiscal year 2015-16, Channel One achieved significant goals that helped meet our mission. Our organization attained Service Enterprise Initiative (SEI) certification, which enables us to more effectively recruit, develop, and retain volunteers based on needs assessment and maximize our volunteer program. Channel One Regional Food Bank successfully passed the AIB International Food Safety Audit. This inspection audit enabled Channel One Regional Food Bank to achieve a food industry standard that provides an effective framework for safe food handling processes and procedures aimed at protecting the food supply food chain and reducing food safety risks for our clients. The Food Bank received over 10 million pounds of food, an 8% increase, and distributed 9,347,360 pounds of food, including over 2 million pounds of fresh produce, to 185 member agency programs across our 14 county region. The Supplemental Food Shelf distributed 3.6 million pounds of food, an 8% increase, to 6,796 registered households during the year.
