Mission Statement
The Foundation acts as the charitable “giving arm” of the DAV Department of MN, providing financial resources for projects and programs directly supporting veterans and their families throughout Minnesota.
Impact and Programs
Accomplishments
Transported 24,500 MN veterans to VA medical appointments in Mpls, Saint Cloud, and Fargo.Transportation program logged 1.34 million miles and over 70,000 hours.
Donated five new vans in support of DAV transportation network. Developed and implemented an expanded transportation initiative to better service veterans in NE Minnesota.
Coordinated the distribution of durable medical equipment at an estimated value of over $300,000 to veterans and their families in need throughout MN.
Provided $304,960 in grants and program funding to support MN veterans and their families.
Developed and implemented therapeutic outdoors program to provide recreational activities for MN veterans. 480 veterans participated in 2014.
Current Goals
To increase transportation services to Southwestern MN, providing safe and reliable transportation options to veterans in Southwest MN.
To provide a variety of therapeutic recreational activities throughout Minnesota to include, but not limited to, hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping
