Impact and Programs

Accomplishments Since 2004, Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley works closely with United Way St. Croix Valley to provide services that promote the goals of the United Way’s Success By 6 Initiative. The Family Resource Center and United Way St. Croix Valley Success By 6 have built partnerships with Amery Hospital & Clinic, Baldwin Area Medical Center, Osceola Medical Center, River Falls Area Hospital, St. Croix Falls Regional Medical Center and Westfields Hospital & Clinic, with the shared vision that “All children in our communities by age six, with the strong support of family and community, will have the necessary physical, mental, emotional and social development to successfully grow and learn.” “[From birth], parents are engaged and invited into a circle of learning and support that provides them the security they need to raise their children well,” said Baldwin Area Medical Center CEO and Family Resource Center Board Member Alison Page. “This network of formal and informal services offers something to meet the needs of every family. Parents learn about basic child care techniques, nutrition, discipline and more. The result is that more and more children in Western Wisconsin are achieving optimal milestones in development and early learning.” In 2014, Family Resource Center St. Croix Valley was selected by Parents as Teachers as recipient of the national Losos Prize for Innovation based on its success in building strong partnerships throughout the region with hospital, university, mental health and social service organizations and United Way St. Croix Valley throughout the service area of Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties. In 2015 nearly 2,000 unduplicated individuals participated in programs and staff have completed over 5,000 one on one hospital visits since the program began.
Current Goals FRCSCV utilizes the Parents As Teachers (PAT) curriculum, a tested, international federally approved model. Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices; 3. Provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues; 4.
