Mission Statement

Help At Your Door's mission is to help seniors and individuals with disabilities maintain their independence and continue living in their homes.

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments During the past fiscal, Store To Door made a total of 22,202 deliveries to a total of 1,798 clients. An additional 180 seniors received 1,518 free food deliveries through partnerships with Interfaith Community and Opportunity Partners, Keystone Community Services, Anoka Community Brotherhood Council and Southern Anoka Community Assistance food shelf programs. Based on fiscal year 2015 data, 55 percent were 80 years old or older. Eighty-four percent of clients were women; 85 percent of clients lived alone. Clients self-reported as 95 percent Caucasian, 3 percent African American and 2 percent “other.” Twenty-three percent of clients reported household income below federal poverty guidelines; 49 percent reported incomes below 200 percent of federal poverty level. Poverty level and low income households totaled 72 percent. According to the most recent client survey in which 515 people seniors responded— >> 96 percent said that Store To Door services are important or very important in helping maintain independence and quality of life >> 88 percent said that the regular personal contact provided is important or very important >> 43 percent said that Store To Door is their only option for reliably and consistently getting food >> On average, Store To Door deliveries accounted for nearly three-quarters of each clients’ daily meals and snacks
Current Goals Goals for current fiscal year include: >> Complete 19,500 grocery deliveries to 1,500 metro area seniors >> Provide 750 free food deliveries in conjunction with food shelf partners >> Incorporate new Live Well At Home risk screenings and referrals into program offerings and pilot the service to 100 clients
Community or Constituency Served Help At Your Door serves senior (age 65 and older) and people with disabilities who need help to continue living in their own homes.
Geographic Area Served Help At Your Door provides services to the entire 7-county Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area.
