The mission of MSS is to serve adults with disabilities by supporting them in the achievement of their full potential and as vital and contributing members of the community.
AccomplishmentsWe completed our new Strategic Plan and approved the plan in the summer of 2014. Considerable work is now being done by our staff members to implement the strategic plan. This plan calls for us to provide increased meaningful, and person centered, community based opportunities for the people we support.
We increased both the number and quality of employment and non-employment community integration outcomes for the people we support. This includes creating "The Show Gallery Lowertown" which is an art gallery located in St. Paul's Lowertown area and provides the people we support with opportunities to interact with artists from the Lowertown area and to sell their art work.
Current GoalsWe continue to have as a major goal increasing meaningful community integration outcomes for the people we support. In our Quality Improvement Plan for the State of Minnesota we say:
"In 2016, we intend to continue applying person centered thinking and planning to our service delivery model. Furthermore, we will be looking for innovative ways to connect the individuals we support with the community at large. We continue to believe that a well-trained and empowered staff will lead to greater staff retention and, in turn, better services for the individuals we support."
