myHealth for Teens & Young Adults

Mission Statement

To improve the health of our community by providing health services and information that support all teens and young adults in making responsible and well-informed decisions.

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments In 2016, myHealth provided nearly 1,300 clients clinic services in over 4,500 visits. We provided counseling and therapy to over 150 clients in 1,250 sessions. And our community outreach/health educators provided information to over 15,300 attendees in over 600 sessions.
Current Goals Our program goals for the current year include expanding our marketing and outreach through the use of targeted social media outlets, newsletters, and google ads in order to increase community awareness and ultimately increase client traffic at the clinic. Our educational goals include presenting at new locations and also expanding our parent and adult education programs, specifically targeting adults who work with young people. myHealth's overall goal continues to be to reduce barriers young people face when searching for reproductive healthcare or mental healthcare.
Community or Constituency Served myHealth for Teens & Young Adults serves uninsured and low-income youth, including pregnant and parenting teens, between the ages of 12-23 for clinical services and 12-26 for mental health services. Nearly 100% of our clients fall at or below 250% of the national poverty guidelines. Our services are offered to uninsured clients based on a sliding fee scale and no one is ever turned away for service due to their inability to pay.
Geographic Area Served myHealth for Teens & Young Adults is one of only a few providers of subsidized, confidential adolescent-focused health care in an area larger than 1,200 square miles. We serve clients primarily from Hennepin, Carver and Scott counties in Minnesota.
