Impact and Programs
Accomplishments
In the most recent fiscal year, PRISM distributed 622,447 pounds of food through the Marketplace Food Shelf and helped 83 households maintain housing through the homeless prevention program. PRISM's annual Holiday Toy Shoppe provided 800 children with holiday gifts, the Back to School program distributed supplies to 558 children, and the Birthday Room program provided 55 children with gifts and items to celebrate their birthday.
Current Goals
1. Deliver innovative programs that meet out participants' needs and demonstrate a commitment to best practices and outcomes.

2a. Develop organization-wide advancement plan to more deeply engage volunteers, donors and partners, and to obtain appropriate donations.

3. Develop a business model that ensures the long-term sustainability of PRISM.

Community or Constituency Served
PRISM serves persons of all ages and backgrounds, many living in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities area. Program participants experience a wide range of situations including poverty, unemployment, job loss, homelessness, domestic violence, disability, and mental illness.
Geographic Area Served
PRISM's Marketplace Food Shelf and seasonal programs (Back to School drive, Holiday Toy Shoppe, and Birthday Room) geographic service area includes the cities of Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, New Hope, Crystal, and Plymouth. In addition, PRISM provides homeless prevention funds to families in the western suburban Hennepin County region and oversees the Rapid Rehousing program, helping currently homeless families find permanent, stable housing in the western suburbs as well. The Shop for Change Thrift Shop is open to the general public.
