The Firefly Sisterhood

Mission Statement

The mission of Firefly Sisterhood is to foster one-to-one connections between women recently diagnosed with breast cancer and inspirational survivors

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments In our fiscal year 2015, we established ourselves as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, trained 90 volunteer mentors, made 100 matches and created growing referral base from Metro Area breast cancer centers, cancer clinics and community cancer help organizations. We also held our first event open to any women in our community with breast cancer, free of charge.
Current Goals Our goal for the coming year, is to match 200 new women who are dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, training another fifty volunteer mentors, who we call Guides, and offer continuing education for current Guides. We will also begin to reach out to cultural communities, training a cohort of Latina and African American Guides to serve their communities and start to expand our program to greater Minnesota.
