Tri-County Humane Society

Mission Statement

We believe in the human/animal bond and exist to support Central MN by practicing and promoting quality adoption services and education programs.

Impact and Programs

Accomplishments We finished the 2015 year with an overall placement rate of 93.5%! For that to happen at an open admission shelter is amazing. 3071 animals were placed or returned to owner in 2015. On average, animals spent less than 10 days in the shelter. We reduced euthanasia by 60.2% from 2014! We spayed/neutered 1668 shelter pets prior to adopting them out, helping prevent future unwanted litters in our community. We had a total of 34 mobile spay/neuter clinics come to our area to offer affordable options to people of limited means or with feral cat colonies.
Current Goals Increase number of adoptable animals by leveraging foster program to provide care for treatable illnesses. Give foster homes the ability to market and adopt out the pets they are fostering. Strive for the highest level of animal care through the adherence of best practices and enrichment programs. Increase number of adoptable animals through behavior modification and foster homes.
Community or Constituency Served We Support Central Minnesota by practicing and promoting quality adoption services and education programs. Central MN has a large rural and agricultural community.
Geographic Area Served We serve primarily Central Minnesota. However we are an open admission shelter and there are no boundaries or restrictions for residents outside of central MN to adopt, surrender or use our other services.
